Which free VPN would you personally recommend?

Well actually I wouldn’t recommend any free VPN just because you have to understand if a VPN service is totally free then what are they doing with your browsing data?

  • Are they monitoring your data?
  • Are they selling your data?

There has to be a reason why a VPN service is totally free. Now at the same time, I do appreciate that not all of you may be able to afford a premium VPN service, but you still want to access geo-restricted content and you also want to prevent your ISP seeing what you’re doing.

In this article today let’s go over the best ‘Free VPNs’ to select. We are not going to give a brand name, but instead, suggest what you should be looking for.

What Should You Be Looking For in a Free VPN?

The VPN should be 100% free. It should not require any kind of login or registration, and it would be an added bonus if it works on all of your devices including firesticks.

Now the way I like to do this in terms of revealing 3 VPNs is the first thing, I’ll check and confirm what my current IP address is. I then use the free VPN and make a connection to a server in a different country because at the very least these free VPNs should be able to issue a brand new IP address which firstly means your ISP won’t be able to see what you’re doing.

We want to do this because any traffic that originates from your device will now be coming from this new IP address. Secondly in terms of geolocation, if you do want to access something which is only accessible from a different country, you can now use one of these free VPNs and get an IP address from that location, then access our content, and then lastly you will do a speed test.

Now the key thing about a speed test is as long as you can get about 10 to 15 Mbps load speed then that really is more than enough for HD streaming believe it or not! However, I would like to mention that because these are free VPNs, I’m never expecting amazing speeds. Albeit, I think you’ll be quite surprised with some of the free VPNs out there.

Where Can I Find a Free VPN?

Right, so let’s jump right into where you can find free VPNs.  If you use Android, then look at this in the current Play Store and Apple users can use the Apple Store of course.

Make sure you look when the VPN was last updated. Yo do not want an out of date VPN!

Choose a VPN service based on your current geographic location to find the fastest VPN server for you. This would be for pure privacy rather than geo-location.

If you go on to click on the list of servers, you can then see all of the free VPN servers that are available. There should be a couple in the United States, some in Japan, Singapore, Korea, India, Central US, Australia so definitely for a free VPN there should be a decent list.

Now do a quick test let’s try a server in let’s say Canada if this is an option for you. Click on connect and say ok to the message pop-ups these free VPNs usually pop up. You’d only see this message once and we should now be establishing a connection to the VPN server in Canada.

Now that you’ve established a connection have a quick look at your current IP address and location. For that, you should search in Google for website IP location. You should be able to see a brand new IP address, which proves the free VPN works.

Scroll down and the website should show you are browsing from Canada or the country you selected. From a new IP address and a brand new location perspective, this is a very important test that you should carry out regularly while using the free VPN. You can now confirm that the VPN is doing what it’s supposed. You can also try a quick speed test. As previously mentioned guys as long as we can get about 10 Meg or so that should be more than enough for HD streaming.
